Understanding your results

A typing speed test gives you four numbers worth knowing. WPM is your net speed, raw WPM ignores corrections, accuracy is the share of correct keystrokes, and consistency measures how even your rhythm is. Chase accuracy and consistency first; durable speed follows.

What is a good typing speed?

40 WPM is average, 60–80 WPM is solid for a developer, and 100+ is fast. Accuracy above 97% matters more than raw speed.

How is WPM calculated?

Words per minute = (correct characters ÷ 5) ÷ minutes elapsed. We also show raw WPM (including errors) and consistency.

Can I test on code instead of words?

Yes. Switch to code mode to measure your real coding typing speed across six languages.
